The United States abounds in the gardens of famous homes. Some of the top 5 most beautiful gardens in USA are part of the formal homes built in the early part of the 1900s. The gardens were designed to complement the homes that were built, the environment and the lives of the inhabitants. Some of the most beautiful gardens in America are Winterthur, Vizcaya, Kingwood Garden, Alfred B. Maclay Gardens and Callaway Garden

Winterthur in Wilmington , Delaware is the 900-acre estate of Henry Francis du Pont. The 60-acre garden is a grouping of both international and native plants that bloom with year-round color. The peony garden contains herbaceous peonies – Chinese, Japanese, French, as well tree peonies. The peony garden is one of Winterthur’s formal gardens.

Vizcaya, located on Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida, is a wonderful example of a Renaissance garden and one of the top 5 most beautiful gardens in USA. Villa Vizcaya was constructed by James Deering of the International Harvester Company as a 180-acre estate. The formal gardens are replicas of the traditional Italian gardening including a water display, classical statues, sculptured beds of grass, topiary trees and shrubs, and decorative banisters.

Kingwood Garden, the 47-acre estate of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kelley in Mansfield, Ohio. is one of the most beautiful gardens in America. They were made available to the public in 1953. Currently, they are open daily year round except for short breaks in the winter. The gardens of Kingwood are exceptional because they change every season and every year so the display always varies. Kingwood’s most famous seasonal show is the tulips followed by the annuals flowers. Kingwood’s spring flower presentation of dogwoods, magnolias, crocus, daffodils, redbuds, and silver bells are astounding. The following are the approximate blooming dates for the seasonal gardens at Kingwood depending, of course, upon the weather: daffodils from mid-April to early May, iris from late May to early June, peonies in June, the perennial garden from April to the frost in fall, roses from June to autumn frost, tulips from early to mid-May, day lilies from July to August, wildflowers from early May to fall frost, and the annual display from July to September.

The formal gardens were designed in 1928 when the house was built and the landscaping was completed. Now, the formal gardens portray the annuals and tulip plantings with new patterns being created each year. The woodland gardens are planted on the rim of the woods with a variety of plants that are shade tolerant woods. The purpose is to create a relaxing place to enjoy the garden. Kingwood also has an herb garden with kitchen and medicinal herbs and contains a vertical garden. Kingwood’s collection gardens are planted with peonies, Siberian and bearded iris, roses, and day lilies.

The Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park in Florida is a stunning ornamental garden in a portion of the state park and is one of The Most Beautiful Gardens In America. It was established in the 1920s when Alfred and Louise Maclay bought the land for their home for the winter. The gardens are skillfully landscaped with a charming brick path, a secret garden, a reflection pool, a walled garden, all with an emphasis on azaleas and camellias. The best time to visit the park for the blooming season is from January to the end of April with the top blossoming time being the middle to late March.

There is nobody who has not heard about the most photographic place of the world; Taj Mahal located in Agra, India. Well, the second most photographic place in the world after this is found in Holland known as Keukenhof. This was said by the Eastman Kodak Co. and when they can claim something like this I am sure that is not wrong. The famous Keukenhof Dutch Gardens are simply breathtaking and the most colorful place you can ever go to. The same can be said about the history of this place as well; too colorful.

The gardens of and flower parks of Keukenhof are full of concrete water fountains and attractive bulbs. Turnips got replaced by tulips and hyacinths have taken the place of the herbs in the garden. Millions of people come to Keukenhof Flower Park and garden every single year and most of them love visiting in the spring season. Today, Keukenhof Flower Garden gets counted as the world’s largest flower garden and another amazing fact about this place is that the concrete water fountains located here are the most photographed things ever. The dazzling colors surrounding these fountains are simply astonishing.

It was the year of 1949 when Butch Bulb growers took advantage of Keukenhof flower garden and used it show the greatness of Holland’s bulb industry; they sure did an amazing job. Every year in autumn, there are around seven million bulbs planted in the gardens and the job is carried out by only around thirty gardeners. When the spring show finally arrives; these bulbs are simply fantastic and people cannot take their eyes off them. The old bulbs are then dug back up every year and get tossed away. Those beautiful concrete water fountains put the accent on these bulbs in every spring’s show. I would say that this is the main feature of the Keukenhof flower gardens.

You can also get a hold of theme gardens in Keukenhof flower gardens that include meadow, historical, musical, and Japanese gardens. There are around 30 sculptured objects that simply blow your mind; art at its best I say. Similarly, all the various concrete water gardens around highly add up to the grace of this entire place. Visiting Holland would not be complete for any tourist if the signature windmill is missing; that’s right, you can even enjoy a maze in Keukenhof flower gardens and get lost in it for a while.

Peter actually got the Peterhof Palace built as a residence where he can enjoy summers and today it is one of the greatest landmarks in the entire Russia.
It was the year 1700 when the actual construction for the ship port where people sailed from the island of Kotlin began; the park and the palace was also underway alongside. There are simply several marvelous fountains found in Peterhof Garden and this is the reason why it is also commonly known as the World Capital of Fountains; Russian Versailles is yet another name used for referring to Peterhof Palace.

In order to celebrate the abundant plant life found in South Africa, Kirstenbosch botanical garden was established in the year of 1913. Capturing some of the most beautiful scenes of Cape Town Mountains, this garden offers some excellent yet exciting walks. During the entire summer at nights there are various outdoor concerts organized at Kirstenbosch garden. Both, the young generation and the old generation enjoy attending these concerts. Several families plan their Sunday picnics every other week at this pretty spot. The one thing that is enough to explain the beauty of this place is; Kirstenbosch garden counts in the top most excellent botanical gardens on the planet; therefore, one cannot miss to visit this place if he is in South Africa.

This place can be said as the Cape Town version of Central Park in New York or may be Hyde Park located in London. Cecil John Rhodes was the person who created this beautiful heaven on earth in the year of 1895 first. The garden today is accessible for the visitors more then ever since now it has a big gift shop to buy souvenirs and other items from along with a very nice restaurant to eat which is not that expensive either. Secondly, when you go towards the bottom gate there is another restaurant known as Silvertree Restaurant; one of the best places to eat in the entire Cape Town.

When it comes to experiencing a bit of tranquility then the Majorelle gardens are the right place to visit. Apart from all the busy life and crowded streets of Marrakech, Majorelle gardens is the place where one can forget everything and enjoy the outmost beauty of nature. Pierre Berge and Yves Saint Laurent are the owners of La Majorelle gardens. Yves Saint Laurent’s ashes were strewn in the entire garden when he passed away in the year of 2008. The French painter known as Jacques Majorelle was the person who actually designed and created this beautiful place. He came to Morocco during the First World War and settled there permanently.

Jacques Majorelle succeeded in the year of 1924 when these exotic gardens were complete and ready; today this exotic garden is classified as one of the most fantastic botanical gardens located in Marrakech, Morocco. This was a colonial period when France had Morocco has one of his protectorates. Although many people have forgotten about the beauty of watercolors this garden carries but many of them are still kept preserved in the garden’s villa collection. This garden is surely one of the masterpieces any artist will ever create and therefore anyone who visits the sight once always comes back again. The name bleu Majorelle highly reflects from several things that are painted with shades of special cobalt blue; especially the buildings that can easily catch attention right away. In the year of 1947, the Majorelle garden was opened for public to come and admire. It was the year of 1980 when Pierre Berge and Yves Saint Laurent owned this heaven on earth. Then as I mentioned earlier that one of the owners passed away.

Another interesting and attractive feature of the garden is that museum located in it as well. This museum was actually Majorelle’s personal studio that was painted with beauty and passion. It carries the Islamic Art or Marrakech that is of high importance of course and tourists from all around the world come to see it. Some of the things that this Islamic museum carries are beautiful paintings made by Majorelle, old traditional yet beautiful jewelry, ceramics, and North African textiles that are from Saint Laurent’s own personal collections. People can even enjoy a bit of wild life since there are around 15 very amazing bird species to enjoy; these species cannot be found anywhere but in some areas of North Africa only. Not only you get to experience amazing looking bird species but over 300 species of fantastic plants can be also enjoyed. As I mentioned earlier that Majorelle garden stands as a botanical garden today. Many of these plants are placed in attractive pots which are vibrantly colored.

Concrete pathways painted red throughout the garden awaits you to enjoy its lush green environment. So if you ever get a chance to visit Morocco then you cannot afford to miss visiting La Majorelle Garden. This is a place that will keep on calling you back because of its beauty, history, tradition, culture, and soul.

Many of Asian cultures are known as those who give a lot of attention to plants. Unlike in western countries, eastern cultures still use to involve the plants pretty much in their life.

This is one of the most beautiful gardens that you will ever come across. Spread over 300 acres, it has almost forty thousand plants which really make you hang around for days. It is very difficult to see it all in very less time. If you don’t have much time to spend there, at least spend time in viewing the highlights of the garden. There are at least two batches of tours allowed in a day and you can book your tour in advance and it doesn’t cost you a lot. There are so many options that you will literally get confused about what to view first. You will come across many stunning and beautiful sights. Ensure that you visit those glass houses. There are some great structures which were as old as the Victorian era. They are the palm house and the temperate house. Apart from these they are also some new glass houses. Don’t miss the aquatic garden. There are more than a hundred types of plants grown there. Walk through the tree top walk way which enables you to see everything from a different view.

There are a lot many gardens in Europe which are very beautiful and stunning. Listing only a five from those is really difficult. Also seeing all those gardens in a single trip is very difficult and is impossible as there are so many things to be seen and every garden is a vast thing in itself and anyone who goes there cannot come out without spending much time inside. Travelling there is worth it as you will feel the pleasure of enjoying the nature. If you go there with your family your family with thank you for showing such a pleasant spot. The main beauty of those places is that the gardens are preserved from centuries and the landscaping is done almost like an art. The flowers are like decorations and chirping of birds in the garden makes it more beautiful. If a person is a nature lover then this place is almost a heaven to him. If you can take some time out of your busy schedule, then do not think about where to travel. I would recommend these places for anyone who is looking to come back refreshed from a tour or a holiday. Happy journey!

When we talk about the finest gardens in the world, Japanese gardens top the list. They are no ordinary gardens, having rocks, water, a teahouse, pavilion and of course, a lantern made of stone just makes one imagine of paradise. Among these elements, stones are considered to be very important in Japanese gardens, they are the first thing which one notices placed in the garden attracting the eyes.

You can find stones used in several different ways in a Japanese garden. They are used in making of the walking path in the garden or placed randomly giving a funky look. Representing the emotions of strength and endurance, stones can be found placed as if they are naturally there for ages. They are also found nicely located in the bottom of waterfalls.

After this the second major thing one will notice is the symbol of purity, water. You would not find too many fountains in a Japanese garden, as they are not natural. Besides fountains, you can see fantastic waterfalls, streams or ponds allowing the water to flow naturally and giving the viewer a boost of refreshment.

Yin and Yang are very familiar names in Japanese culture as they represent the female and male elements of water and fire. You will commonly find a stone lantern placed near a stream or a pond may be, in the respect of these elements.

You would also find a lot of shrubs and flowers around, which give the feel of the changing seasons in a Japanese garden. Surrounding them will be trees, mostly of Japanese maple or Japanese Black Pine. Magnolia trees, Bamboo, Moss and trees like Azaleas can be scene around the pavilion or the teahouse giving a nice and fresh atmosphere. These gardens are very neatly made even for their natural look many of the material things you see in many other gardens such as fountains and sculptures will often not be seen in Japanese gardens.

Although you might find some great things from pawn shops in NYC to place in your Japanese garden they will most likely be placed in the adjoining buildings like a teahouse or pavilion rather than in the garden’s actual scenery. These gardens provide sanctuary and a peacefulness and want to be as true to nature as they can be, even in big cities like NYC. Containing a harmony of natural elements to take you away from the hustle and bustle of the shops, people, and everyday life.

Pond and island style, the dry landscape Zen garden, stroll gardens or courtyard gardens are a few of different Japanese gardens found commonly. A Japanese tea garden is a popular one having a teahouse and stone walk path across the garden. A nice waterfall could be seen along with different various plants. If you would like to see pond, island and bridges then Pond and island style Japanese garden is waiting for you. If you have a simple taste and want some decency then you might want to visit one of the small courtyard Japanese gardens.

None or the less, all these Japanese gardens are just beyond magnificent and the visitor unconditionally returns for another look.
