Herbal gardening is liked by many people and several desires to have one but they do not know what to actually do. For all such people, setting up a mini herb garden first is the best thing to do. Garden location will matter the most since it will have the highest impact on how your herbs will grow. If you are planning on planting the herbs inside your home, windowsill will work the best facing west or south. If you choose any outside location, make sure the plants get shade for at least half of the day. It is not healthy for the herbs to be exposed to sunlight throughout the whole day. Your growing herbs will depend a lot on the site you choose for them. The right containers will the second big consideration. Night pots are a good choice or any other container but it should be just right. This will also affect their growing since they need good space to grow healthily. Some inches in diameter, container made from plastic or clay would work great. Exact size matters a lot; not too small and not too big.

Similarly, the exact soil mixture will be needed. The sand and potting soil should be in accurate mixture; both must be in the right proportion to each other. Make sure to add half a tablespoon of lime to the soil; this will aid to the herbs growing process. Planting the seeds should be done correctly; do not plant them deep. Plant them deep as the length of your index finger’s nail; push the seeds in the soil till you cannot see your nail anymore.

You will also need to provide them with sufficient amount of water; too less might kill them and too much might drown them so make sure it is done accurately. Every plant also requires sunlight and so do herbs but not for the whole day at least. Give them a place where they can enjoy sunlight for just a few hours only. Wind or air is another important factor; make sure they do get it but not a lot since it can destroy herbs easily. Lastly, make sure you prune them; cut them close to the soil or the stem to make them healthier.
